Every year between late May and July, the plateau of Castelluccio di Norcia attracts people from all over the world to admire the magnificent mountain colorful scenery. For few weeks a mosaic of different varieties of wildflowers brokes the monotony of green grassland.

The festa della fiorita celebrate this enchanting show. It takes place the Second Sunday in June, although it is clearly impossible to exactly predict the apex of flowering.
There is a miriad of varieties of flowers that dye the Pian Grande and Pian Perduto. Walking along the paths you can find gentianella, daffodils, violets, poppies, buttercups, purple eugeniae, clovers, shamrocks and others.
This small town is situated in the province of Perugia, Umbria region, in the National Park of Sibillini Mountain, 1452 metres above sea level. It sits atop its own hill in the center of the plateau divided in: Pian Grande, Pian Piccolo, Pian Perduto. The total area is about 15 km² of green-glazed hill, transformed by the flower blossoming in unbelievable otherworldly landscape.
