Lucca's majestic wall surround its Roman and medieval heart, studded with tiny churches, piazzas, art galleries, cobbled lane. Start visiting Lucca with a walk along the old city walls: they are the only ones to be completely accesible on foot.

These 4 kilometres panoramic walkway offers a really remarkable view of the city.
Lucca is commonly referred to as the city of 101 churches for the large numbers of religious buildings representing different architectural italian styles. Don't miss the Cathedral, St. Michael's Church, more than its marvelous facade you acan admire inside the church some of the most beautiful masterpiece such as Ilaria del Carretto's tomb and the Volto Santo. Next to the church there is via Fillungo, where you will find a miriad of stores and shops if you are in the mood! Following Fillungo you''l reach Piazza dell'Anfiteatro: a remiscence of roman times. The amphitheatre non longer exist but the square mantains its orginal elliptical structure.
Finally don't miss the Giungi Tower with trees at the very top. Rent a bike or a tandem bike to enjoy, and maybe speed up, your tour of the town sinee there's much more to see!!
