Name and origin: we don't have certain historical information about vines called Brachetto,

mainly because with this name were often designated different cultivars, generally aromatic grapes, but sometimes certain with simple taste.
The first references about the use of wine Brachetto in Piedmont date back from the early 1700s. To protect the typical production of Acquese in 1969 was granted the DOC, followed by the DOCG in 1996 for red and sparkling wine types.
