Pecorino Identity Card

Pecorino is an indigenous italian white wine grape. This old varietal grape originated as a wild grapevine that was eventually cultivated for wine production.

Name and origin: Pecorino means little sheep and the local story wants that this grape is so called because this variety was the favourite treat of sheep driven to lower pastures. There's no connection with pecorino cheese except the fact that the two pair magnificently.
Where is cultivated: it is grown in Italy's eastern coastal regions mainly Marche and Abruzzo.
Pecorino Wine Description.
Color: straw yellow
Flavor: floral bouquet of acacia, with elegant hint of minerals. Good acidity and alcohol.
Ageability: young wine
Personality: fresh and strong
